National park tourism statistics compiled from the Rwanda Statistical Yearbook 2025, TRAVEL and TOURISM sheet, Tables 9.1, 9.2, and 9.4. Table 9.1 reports visitors to Rwanda's three flagship national parks (Volcanoes, Akagera, and Nyungwe) with each park's share of the annual total, spanning 2005 to 2024. Table 9.2 breaks visitors down by residency category (Rwandan residents, foreign residents, and foreign visits) from 2008 to 2024. Table 9.4 tracks gorilla conservation in Volcanoes National Park (number of monitored gorilla families, newborns, and total monitored individuals) from 2018 to 2024. The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is the source agency for all three tables. Park visits collapsed to 36,019 in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic before rebounding to a record 150,525 in 2024.
