The applicable electricity end-user tariff schedule for Rwanda, from Tables 4, 6 and 7 of the RURA Electricity Statistics Report. It covers non-industrial customers priced by consumption block (residential lifeline, mid, and high tiers, plus flat rates for water utilities, telecom towers, hotels, health facilities, broadcasters and data centres), and industrial customers under two regimes: smart-metered customers pay an energy charge plus a time-of-use maximum-demand charge and a service charge, while those without smart meters pay a flat rate. The residential tariff rises steeply from a lifeline rate to nearly triple for the heaviest users. Prices are set by Board Decision and have been stable since January 2020, so this is a rate card dated by its effective date rather than a quarterly series.

ELECTRICITY

Rwanda's electricity tariff rewards frugal households: residential power costs 89 francs per kWh for the first 15 units a month but 249 for anything above 50, nearly triple, under the rate card in force since January 2020.
